Experience the thrill and beauty of the Outback while supporting Northcott
After more than 14 years and $837,000 raised, COVID-19 restrictions are not a hurdle for the Drive4Life crew. This passionate and committed group of people is now organising the Drive4Life Tour for 2020.
Drive4Life is a non-profit organisation set up by a group of long-term Four Wheel Drive (4WD) enthusiasts, who raise funds for Northcott by organising 4WD tours.
This year, the tour is open to both 4WD and All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles. Whether you are a novice or an experienced 4WD enthusiast, you can be part of this “tag-along” four wheel drive tour and see areas of Australia that are off the beaten track.
The event will cover the Iconic Outback Hotel tour, starting and finishing in Broken Hill and visiting Maree, Birdsville, Cameron Corner and Silverton, from Saturday 26 September to Saturday 3 October 2020. There’s only 10 spaces left, so be quick, register and enjoy the thrill of the off-road!
Jan and Leon Treweek have been part of Drive4Life since 2008 and have been part of seven trips. They said: “Since the first time we participated, we are pretty passionate about Northcott, so we are happy we have been able to go on a number of trips.
“We were able to be on one of the drives when a group of Northcott customers travelled with us, and it was a great experience to get to know them. We are looking forward to getting out of the house after the restrictions. We enjoy the trips so much; we have met amazing groups of people and that has been fabulous.”
Mick DeGraaff has participated in at least 13 drives since 2006 and has now become one of the group leaders.
“We love the camaraderie of the groups and the long-term friendships that can be built. What I think is fantastic is meeting around the campfire after a day of driving, talking about the day’s drive and the excitement of what for some people may be their first off-road trip,” Mick said.
“We love the fact that the donations we make go directly to Northcott; it is a big reason to keep participating and I’m proud that we have been able to support Northcott for so long. The amount of money raised over the years is amazing.”
