How our Physiotherapists can support you

Improving your strength, movement and flexibility can boost your quality of life and open up your world to new experiences. Whatever your age or health conditions, our physiotherapy services will enable you to build your movement skills, take part in new activities and achieve the physical goals that are important to you.

Our experienced physical therapists will work closely with you and the people who support you – like parents, teachers and employers – to achieve your desired physical goals. These might be focused on movement or activities at home, in the classroom, at work or out in the community.

For children, we’ll work with you to be as independent, confident and strong in your bodies as you can be. Whether it’s riding a bike or playing with friends, playing sport or swimming in the pool, you’ll improve your ability to move and set up healthy exercise practices for life. As you get older your needs change, and our physiotherapists provide advice on the right exercises, movements and equipment for your situation and life stage. You’ll gain confidence and feel empowered to learn new skills at any age.

Movement Matters

When kids move, they’re not just working their muscles—they’re also building brain connections, developing emotional regulation and making space for social connection. Rolling and crawling, walking and jumping—these milestones form the foundation for how your child learns about the world and how their mind and body come together.

Physical skills

Called ‘gross motor skills’, these cover whole body movements used to do everyday activities like standing, walking, running and jumping. It includes hand-eye coordination like throwing or kicking a ball, as well as riding a bike or swimming. For children, learning these skills will enable them to move more and take part in social play activities.

Getting around

Using tailored exercises to work on your muscle strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and walking will improve your mobility. This will give you the ability to stand, walk or move around more easily and independently.

Recovery from surgery or illness

Rehabilitation will build your strength and skills after you’ve undergone surgery or experienced illness so you can function more independently.

Hydrotherapy

Take part in exercises and activities in warm water which will reduce pain and stiffness.

Exercise opportunities and programs

Enhance your health and wellbeing with access to sport or recreation opportunities in the community, like pilates, yoga or PE lessons at school, along with home or gym exercise programs.

Get more time and support to achieve your goals

You can achieve your goals faster by working with an Allied Health Assistant (AHA). An AHA works under the guidance of your physiotherapist, supporting the program your therapist has created for you. The affordability of an AHA gives you more time to work on your goals. Our AHA’s are either qualified with a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant, studying their undergraduate degree to become Allied Health Professionals, or both.

Imogen – Physiotherapist

As a Physiotherapist, I am passionate about enhancing the wellbeing of children and making meaningful, positive impacts on their lives. I enjoy supporting children at all stages, from newborns reaching their gross motor milestones to teens achieving their personal goals.

Starting my physiotherapy career in the UK and recently making the move to Australia 2 years ago, I have worked across major trauma children’s hospitals and community settings in both the UK and Australia, working in areas such as neonates, orthopaedics, and neurological rehabilitation. I work with a variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy, Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy, acquired brain injuries, genetic and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Working across the 0-18 age span, I have a keen interest in conditions like cerebral palsy, torticollis and developmental delays and specialise in neonates and neuro-rehabilitation. Outside of work, I’m passionate about exploring new places, hiking, trying my hand at surfing and keeping fit.

Georgina – Therapy Assistant

I’m a Disability Support Worker for Programs and a Therapy Assistant for the Clinical Team. I have experience working with children and young people with various disabilities and have a particular passion for supporting those with autism.

My qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in Children Services. I am passionate about fostering positive, strength-based relationships, as I believe connections help young people feel safe, secure and supported. By creating this environment, we enable young people to develop essential life skills for the future while of course bringing laughter and fun into the program space!

Outside of work, I love animals. A fun fact about me is that I previously worked training assistance dogs for children with disability.
