Independence

Kat – Physiotherapist

I am a highly experienced Senior Physiotherapist with a specialised focus on paediatrics and disability. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2015, I have dedicated my career to supporting children with physical impairments and neurodevelopmental disorders in community settings.

I have extensive experience working with children across home, daycare, school, and community environments, helping them achieve meaningful goals and greater independence. She has experience working with children diagnosed with Cerebral palsy, Developmental delay, Muscular dystrophies, Hypotonia, Genetic conditions, Neurodiversity, and neurodevelopmental disorders

Outside of work, I enjoy camping and spending time at the beach with my family, including my two young boys.

Nicole – Physiotherapist

I love working with kids and young adults of all abilities, helping them to achieve their goals whether that be to take their first steps, develop gross motor skills or just keep moving in the ways they want to. I have a special interest in working with children 0-5 years and am passionate about early intervention, helping little ones maximise their potential for participation in activities meaningful to them.

With a background as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, I love being able to combine movement and exercise with my hands on physio skills. I have experience across the lifespan having worked with babies through to the elderly as both an Exercise Physiologist and a physio.

Outside of work I like to play and coach softball, travel, camping with my son and husband, beach days, spend time with our families

Kitty – Physiotherapist

I am a physiotherapist with 18 years of experience, including 17 years in neurological rehabilitation. I have a special interest in paediatric rehabilitation, and I love working with children and their families to help them move, play, and participate in the things that matter most to them. Over the years, I’ve also developed extensive experience in equipment prescription, supporting clients in finding the right assistive devices to enhance their mobility, independence, and quality of life.

For me, physiotherapy is all about helping people reconnect with their bodies so they can do the things that bring them joy.

Outside of work I enjoy trying new recipes, getting my hands dirty in the garden, and diving into craft projects.

Lindsay – Therapy Assistant

As a therapy assistant I love being able to have a positive impact on clients by providing a fun experience to always have something to look forward as well as supporting to achieve their goals. It is always rewarding experience watching clients progress and become the very best version of themselves! In my down time, I enjoy prioritising my health and fitness, and spending my days at the beach.

Outside of work I like to watch movies and go the beach.

How our physiotherapy services can support you

Improving your strength, movement and flexibility can boost your quality of life and open up your world to new experiences. Whatever your age or health conditions, our physiotherapy services will enable you to build your movement skills, take part in new activities and achieve the physical goals that are important to you.

Our physiotherapists have experience in working with people across a range of disabilities and impairments, including developmental delay, neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), neuromuscular disorders, genetic and movement conditions, hypermobility related concerns and rheumatological conditions.

Our experienced physical therapists will work closely with you and the people who support you – like parents, teachers and employers – to achieve your desired physical goals. These might be focused on movement or activities at home, in the classroom, at work or out in the community.

For children, we’ll work with you to be as independent, confident and strong in your bodies as you can be. Whether it’s learning to sit, crawl or walk, learning to ride a bike, playing with friends, playing sport or swimming in the pool, you’ll improve your ability to move and set up healthy exercise practices for life. As you get older your needs change, and our physiotherapists provide advice on the right exercises, movements and equipment for your situation and life stage. You’ll gain confidence and feel empowered to learn new skills at any age.

A physiotherapy assessment will look at the way you move around different environments in everyday life. It will assess how your body functions, the strength of your muscles, your balance and your fitness. Face-to-face sessions will establish therapy goals and the strategies and exercises needed to learn new skills. You can then build upon what you’ve learned with a consistent, daily routine when you’re back in your natural environment.

Achieve physical goals with physiotherapy

It’s never too early or too late to work with a physical therapist, whether it’s managing the physical needs of your daily routine, or setting a goal to try something new.

Physical skills

Called ‘gross motor skills’, these cover whole body movements used to do everyday activities like standing, walking, running and jumping. It includes hand-eye coordination like throwing or kicking a ball, as well as riding a bike or swimming. For children, learning these skills will enable them to move more and take part in social play activities.

Getting around

Using tailored exercises to work on your muscle strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and walking will improve your mobility. This will give you the ability to stand, walk or move around more easily and independently.

Recovery from surgery or illness

Rehabilitation will build your strength and skills after you’ve undergone surgery or experienced illness so you can function more independently.

Hydrotherapy

Take part in exercises and activities in warm water which will reduce pain and stiffness.

Exercise opportunities and programs

Enhance your health and wellbeing with access to sport or recreation opportunities in the community, like pilates, yoga or PE lessons at school, along with home or gym exercise programs.

Get more time and support to achieve your goals

You can achieve your goals faster by working with an Allied Health Assistant (AHA). An AHA works under the guidance of your physiotherapist, supporting the program your therapist has created for you. The affordability of an AHA gives you more time to work on your goals. Our AHA’s are either qualified with a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant, studying their undergraduate degree to become Allied Health Professionals, or both.

Our Physiotherapists can help you navigate the world of assistive technology by empowering families and caregivers with the knowledge and understanding of what assistive technology solutions are available. If needed, we will recommend the right mobility equipment to support you in your goals. Examples of these can include supportive seating, strollers, wheelchairs, powered mobility, recreation, standing frames, walking frames, and 24-hour positioning.

Our Physiotherapists are trained to help babies, children and teens to be as independent, confident and strong in their bodies as they can be. If your child is experiencing musculoskeletal conditions, developmental delays, genetic disorders or other common issues, paediatric physiotherapy can help your child’s physical development through assessment and tailored treatment plans. Paediatric physiotherapists work closely with parents and caregivers, providing guidance on exercises and strategies that can be incorporated into daily routines.
