NDIS housing FAQs

What’s the difference between SIL and SDA?

The SDA is the housing provider, they manage the property or accommodation. SIL is the service provider, they manage the supports to residents in the house, this includes support with daily life, accessing the community, assistance with preparing meals and personal care.

Northcott is and NDIS funded SIL provider, we have a range of disability accommodation with current vacancies available. If you have SIL and/or SDA funding in your NDIS plan, your Support Coordinator can help you apply and go through the process with you.

What is NDIS supported accommodation? And can my family visit me?

This is typically specialised housing designed with home modifications in mind for accessibility needs. SDA homes can be shared living properties with a number of NDIS participants.

This is your home, your friends and families can visit you. We encourage spending quality time whether it’s in the home our out in the community together.

What wouldn’t the NDIS fund?

Supported independent living funding can not be used for things like rent or other day-to-day costs like groceries.
