Get the most out of every day

Life is more fun when you’re out and about meeting new people and enjoying new experiences. By prioritising the adult social activities that you enjoy or would love to try, you’ll make new friends, build your social skills, and support your health and wellbeing.

The recreation program means I can engage in the community and make new connections, but most of all have fun!

Mo

Our Recreation & Social Outing service is designed for adults aged 18 plus. Our varied range of activities means there’s something for everyone to enjoy, whatever you’re into. Whether it’s sporting events or concerts, festivals and movies, galleries, art lessons, barefoot bowling and even night clubbing – the choice is yours.

You can also be a part of our planning sessions and suggest activities you’d be interested in trying. Maybe a new hobby like photography or a trip to the zoo? Chances are that whatever you’d like to do, there’ll be others with shared interests who would love to join you. We plan our events at least three months in advance, so you’ll have plenty of time to choose your favourites and make plans to attend.

How we can support you to get more out of every day

Our program is designed to give you the confidence and skills to take part in any activities that appeal to you, and broaden your experience of life.

Try new activities and learn new skills in the community you’ll make new friends and have fun with others who share your interests.

Develop your social connections

By spending time with others in a relaxed social setting, you’ll meet many different people, share fun experiences, and make new friends who enjoy the same things you do. You’ll be able to build your communication skills and feel comfortable in a range of different settings. Become skilled at taking part in conversations and maintaining positive interactions.

Learn independent life skills

Socialising is a skill like any other that you can learn and get better at over time. The more you practice, your confidence will grow, and you’ll want to try new things. You’ll develop team-building skills as you mix with others and make positive connections in the community. You’ll also build resilience and your decision-making skills as you take part in activities you haven’t experienced before. The skills you pick up along the way will enable you to create a more independent life.

Support from an experienced team

Our caring team can give you the support you need to get started with your recreation and social outings. As you build your social skills, you can start participating independently, or make connections with others that will enable you to take part regularly. If required, you can access ongoing support to be a part of all the activities you love or would like to try.
