Working at Northcott
“I was attracted to working at Northcott because of the opportunity to support and encourage individuals to be their best selves”, explains Jenna.
Jenna is a people person who enjoys working closely with her customers and her colleagues in both one-on-one settings and through group programs. Being a Support Worker means Jenna gets to support people with disability and encourage them to be independent.
Memorable moments
In the past year Jenna has had several memorable customer achievements. One achievement she shares is an instance when she supported a customer to be more independent and confident. She did this by providing positive reinforcement. Jenna encouraged this customer to socialise with other people and make friends. This resulted in them attending our day programs which they did not have the confidence to come to for years!
“Knowing that I have made even a small positive change in their lives makes what I do every day 100% worth it” adds Jenna.
When asked what gets her out of the bed each day to come to work, Jenna explains that her biggest motivation is knowing that she is supporting people with disability every day to feel great about themselves, while they are achieving their goals.
