What started as a creative workaround for costly animal therapy turned into one of the most heartwarming days we’ve had at North Parramatta – Bring your pet day!
“When the team discovered that professional animal therapy sessions weren’t quite budget-friendly, they thought: why not bring in our own furry friends for a bit of joy and connection?” says Kristiarne, Service Manager.

Puppy-chinos and tummy rubs
And what a brilliant idea it was! The centre was buzzing with excitement, wagging tails, and a whole lot of belly rubs. Customers absolutely loved it. Some even stepped outside their comfort zones to pat the animals and get up close. The undeniable star of the show was Gary, who confidently sprawled out in the sun, belly up, soaking it all in while offering tummy rubs and Insta-worthy photo ops.
Thanks to the crew from the ‘Thanks a Latte’ café program at Parramatta, the good vibes didn’t stop at the fur. Staff and customers were treated to toasty toasties and hot drinks, while the pups enjoyed their very own puppy chinos – because why should humans have all the fun?

A tail wagging success
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with both staff and customers already asking, “When’s the next one?” Next time, we’re thinking even more animal variety, so if you’ve got a friendly goat, chilled-out chicken, or even a chatty cockatoo at home… you might just get the invite!
Bring your pet day was a tail-wagging success, and we can’t wait to see what creatures join us next. Stay tuned for more paws and smiles to come!
