Eliza Hull is a musical artist, writer, journalist and passionate disability advocate based in Victoria, Australia. Living with a disability herself, Eliza has become a strong and articulate voice on parenting, relationships and inclusion within the disability community.
Her podcast series We’ve Got This, focusing on parenting with a disability, became one of Radio National’s and ABC Life’s most successful series of all time. Her honest and empowering storytelling resonates with many and her work continues to break down barriers and challenge misconceptions.
Changing the Narrative
Eliza’s voice is one that challenges outdated assumptions, including those from medical professionals. When she expressed her wish to become a parent, she was advised against it. Instead of accepting those limitations, she used her experience to amplify the stories of others and build a platform that empowers and educates.
Her work, especially for children and families, opens up important conversations around accessibility, inclusion and what it means to live with a disability in today’s world.
Some highlights of her work include:
Books

We’ve Got This: Stories by Disabled Parents – a powerful anthology featuring Eliza and other voices.

Growing Up Disabled in Australia – Eliza is a contributing writer to this acclaimed collection.
The World We Can Build – her most recent book. A delightful and meaningful picture book about two children who dream up an accessible play space for everyone. Co-authored with Sally Rippin, it introduces the social model of disability in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
