About the opportunity:

Our North-West Sydney team is looking for a permanent part-time support worker. This opportunity suits individuals who want to provide individualised support in a day program or respite setting. We offer a minimum 4-day/week shift, with weekends and sleepovers. The pay rate is $33.42/hr + superannuation + salary packaging.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience supporting high-functioning customers to achieve their life skills and work/ study employment goals
  • Experience in high support needs – manual handling, PEG feeding, medication and personal care.
  • Challenging behaviour Experience – we have customers with complex health and behavioural concerns.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, preferably from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm; weekends are a must.

Typical duties might include:

  • Assist our customers with employment goals, networking with employers and organising work placements. 
  • Devise and facilitate program activities and workshops with customers and other support staff. 
  • Personal care includes bowel care, manual handling using various equipment and aids, and other health and hygiene needs such as feeding, medication, dressing, toileting, and showering.
  • Supporting customers with intellectual disability, high physical support needs and medical / health needs. 
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their care plans, including goals

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Valid working rights.
  • A current Driver's Licence and confidence to drive an accessible van.
  • NSW Working with Children Check NSW.
  • NDIS Worker Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Health Assessment
