Northcott Therapy provides support to children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities including intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and global developmental delay. Assessments and therapy are conducted in a family centred way to enable customers to live as independently as possible at home, in education or work and in the community. We provide timely and evidence based therapy and clinical support to people with a disability, their families and support networks by providing information, support, training and advice within a capacity building approach.

This position is suitable for all levels. You will receive regular supervision and 2 weeks professional development leave (pro rata). Salary on offer is up to $113, 514.39 (pro rata) + super + salary packaging, depending on experience.

As an Occupational Therapist you will:

  • Provide timely, evidenced based, person-centred therapy services to children and adults with a disability within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Manage a paediatric and mixed caseload with complex and varied needs, working with customers of all ages, their families and carers to identify strengths, skills and goals.
  • Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to assess strengths and areas of development, in order to identify suitable intervention strategies.
  • Be able to deliver therapy in a variety of environments, e.g. centre based, schools/preschools, group homes, homes and via telehealth.
  • Contribute proactively to the ongoing development of professional knowledge and skills within the Occupational Therapy profession.
  • Champion and promote the Northcott values; ‘innovative, respectful and brave’.

We would love for you to bring to Northcott:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy with AHPRA registration.
  • Knowledge of strengths-based practice, as well as family and person-centred approaches.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based therapy to a paediatric, adolescent and/or adult caseload.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities in an autonomous, efficient and effective manner.
  • An understanding of the NDIS framework and working within a fee for service model is desired.
  • Be able to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening.
  • Working with Childrens Check and NDIS Worker Screening.
  • Current Australian Driver’s License with access to own vehicle (reimbursement for KM’s is available) - Pool cars are also available for use.
  • Certified proof of Australian Working Rights. 
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module training.
