About the opportunity:

Our team at North Rocks are looking for two support workers for a permanent part-time position. This opportunity suits individuals who want to provide individualised support in a respite setting. The rate is $33.42/hr + superannuation + salary packaging.

Role Requirements:

  • Manual Handling – one of the customers requires assistance due to mobility deterioration.
  • Experience in high support needs - PEG feeding and medication.
  • Challenging behaviour Experience – we have customers with complex health and behavioural concerns.
  • Flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster; weekends are a must.

Typical duties might include:

  • Supporting customers to develop and maintain independence.
  • Undertaking various household tasks, including mealtime management, cleaning, shopping and other community access activities.
  • Personal care includes bowel care, manual handling using various equipment and aids, and other health and hygiene needs such as feeding, medication, dressing, toileting, and showering.
  • Supporting customers with intellectual disability, high physical support needs and medical / health needs. 
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their care plans, including goals

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Valid working rights.
  • A current Driver's Licence and confidence to drive an accessible van.
  • NSW Working with Children Check NSW.
  • NDIS Worker Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Health Assessment
