About the role:

Are you someone that is caring & compassionate, who wants to make a difference in the lives of people with a disability? Reporting to the Coordinator, you will be required to support our valued customers to achieve their everyday goals. Our Every Day Life Skills & Skills 4 Life programs have a strong focus on helping our customers to learn the skills needed to achieve their individual goals through the programs that we offer.

This role would suit those with a genuine desire to promote the independence and inclusion in society of people with disability or developmental delay as well as a desire to support individuals to have a voice, choice, and exercise control over their own lives to achieve their individual goals.

There are a variety of shifts available including

  • 4pm to 7pm weekdays
  • 6 hours shifts on any given day/night during school holidays
  • 4-6 hour ad hoc shifts during the day/night 

These shifts would be suitable for University or TAFE students looking for casual hours. 

Desirable:

  • Experience in the disability sector
  • Experience supporting customers with personal care
  • Experience in Everyday Life Skills and/or Vocational Skills

Essential Criteria:

  • A demonstrated commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of our customers
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their individual care plans, as appropriate.
  • Experience supporting customers with psychosocial disability, dementia, Intellectual disability, Acquired brain injury, physical disability, epilepsy and behaviours of concern.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • A current Driver's Licence
  • NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate - "Quality, Safety & You".
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
