Shabnam is passionate about supporting customers to thrive
Shabnam started her career with Northcott in 2017 as a Support Worker. At that time, she was working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. On completion of her degree, Shabnam was promoted to Individual Plan Advisor. However, after few months in the role, she realised that her true passion was supporting customers face-to-face within a centre setting.
Working at Northcott
Shabnam says working at Northcott has been one of the best decisions of her life. Every day, she is grateful that she is in a job that makes her go to work with a smile. She loves that her job makes a difference in someone’s life and gives her the opportunity to give back to the community.
Memorable moments
“When the customer (diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder) first joined the program, he found it challenging to engage in activities and socialise with peers. Over a period of time, I was able to build a rapport with him, gain his trust and assist him with participating in activities to build his social skills,” adds Shabnam.
Shabnam who lives her life by the motto ‘Treat others how you want to be treated’ is a valued member of the Northcott community.
