Northcott and Montrose join to provide more disability support

News

Montrose is now Northcott. Montrose and Northcott have joined forces in order to support more young people with disability and deliver a more positive impact to the Queensland community.

Northcott has partnered with Montrose to ensure existing customers continue to receive high-quality services and support well into the future, and also identify opportunities for growth and new services. Northcott can support people with disability to live independently through a range of personalised services.

With a range of centres across South East Queensland, Montrose has a long history of providing services for people with a disability. There are remarkable synergies between the organisations. Both Montrose and Northcott were started more than 90 years ago by Rotary to help children during the polio epidemic. Montrose was known as the Queensland Society for Crippled Children and Northcott as the NSW Society for Crippled Children.

The shared experience and values mean that Northcott is well placed to support Montrose to create an exciting and successful future.  Collectively the organisations have over 180 years of experience and a shared vision for an inclusive society where people with disability are supported to live their best life.

Montrose has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Northcott. Montrose therapists and support workers will continue to support clients with services as ‘Montrose’ from the existing facilities, with the confidence of having the support of a larger partner.

I’m very excited to welcome Montrose customers and staff to the Northcott family. There is so much shared values and history between our organisations. Montrose has a strong track record of supporting children and young people with a disability to achieve their goals and live the lives they choose. With a shared vision and combined 180 years of clinical expertise, we are very well placed to support the future success of Montrose.

Liz Forsyth, Northcott CEO

Northcott provides services to over 15,500 people with disability, their families and carers each year from metropolitan and regional locations throughout NSW and the ACT. The partnership with Montrose will see Northcott grow beyond the New South Wales border into Queensland, and hopes to offer Montrose clients additional services over time.

Montrose CEO Kerrie Mahon is excited by the opportunities for Montrose “Montrose and Northcott deeply value people with disability. We are proud to be a place where people can come and be looked after.  In coming together, we aim to continue our important work for Montrose clients and to significantly grow the support Montrose provides for Queenslanders living with disability”, she said.
