What is the ECEI program and how will it support you and your child?

The ECEI program will support parents or carers who:

• Want to discuss concerns about their child’s development
• Wish to better understand their child’s support needs
• Need to be linked with local services that can support their child
• Are looking for support to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) if necessary

As a NDIS Partner in the Community to deliver Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Services in NSW, we recognise that children with disability and their families have specific and unique needs around the time of diagnosis.

We work closely with families that have children aged 0-6 years with developmental delay or disability and their families/carers.

The NDIA has worked with a range of early childhood intervention practitioners and researchers to design an evidence-based, best practice ECEI approach for the NDIS. It is a family-centred approach that focuses on tailoring support to the individual needs of the child and identifies the type and level of early intervention supports that a child and their family needs to facilitate the best outcomes.

What can ECEI offer you and your child?

Our qualified, accredited and committed staff can support you in a number of ways:

Emotional support

Our team can meet with you in your home or at one of our consulting rooms. We have significant experience working with many children and families and will create links for you with other families or carers who have had similar experiences to yours. We can also give you opportunities to talk with experienced therapists, teachers and other professionals so you will not feel alone with the challenges you are facing.

Support to ensure you stay positive and informed

Our team are committed to increasing your understanding of your child’s development. We can provide information about activities and services available to support you, your child and your family, as well as information about the NDIS where appropriate. Our team will work with you to provide practical solutions to the challenges you are facing now.

Goal setting and planning for now and the future

Our team will work with you to set goals for your child. You will be provided with information about the right services and supports to ensure your child can achieve those goals.

We will ensure these supports are delivered in your child’s everyday environment so they can develop the skills they need to be part of their community.
