Weather Alert: Service and site closures in Hunter New England and MNC
Customer Update 29 May 2025 – Taree and Mayfield Centres
We’re pleased to share that electricity has now been restored to our Taree centre, and the plan is to reopen tomorrow (Friday 30 May).
We’re still working through issues with the lift, which may impact customers who require lift access. Our local team will be in touch to discuss any alternative arrangements needed to ensure your safety and access.
We’re also happy to confirm that the Taree Early Childhood Service office will reopen on Monday.

Update 26 May 2025
After assessing the situation over the weekend, our Taree centres will remain closed for now, as there is currently no power to the site and conditions are still being monitored.
Our local team will continue to reach out to customers to see how we can best support you and what arrangements can be made until we are able to reopen the centre.
Our Early Childhood Services offices in Mayfield and Taree will also remain closed. However, virtual meetings will still go ahead where possible. All other offices have reopened.

We’re pleased to see that the weather will start to calm down over the weekend. However, our Taree centre will remain closed on Monday due to ongoing safety concerns and clean-up efforts.
Our local team will be reaching out to customers individually to see how we can best support you and what arrangements can be made for Monday.
Our Early Childhood Services offices in Maitland, Mayfield, Port Macquarie, Taree, Coffs Harbour, and Grafton will also remain closed. However, virtual meetings will still go ahead where possible.

We want to keep you informed about the severe weather currently impacting the Hunter Region, which may affect some of our service areas.
Due to flooding, the Taree Day Programs, Individual Services, and our main office on Victoria Street are closed effective immediately. We will keep you updated on the closure and when we are able to reopen and services can commence.
Our Early Childhood Services offices in Maitland, Mayfield, Port Macquarie, Taree, Coffs Harbour and Grafton will be closed, however, virtual meetings will still go ahead where possible.
