About the role

As an Advanced Practitioner – Behaviour Support at Northcott, you will deliver specialist, person-centred and evidence-based behaviour support for customers with complex needs. Working collaboratively with customers, families, staff and stakeholders, you will apply Positive Behaviour Support to build skills, promote independence and improve quality of life. You will develop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans in line with NDIS Commission requirements, synthesise information from multiple sources, and apply high-level critical thinking to complex situations.

Contributing to housing and functional assessments, delivering training, supporting interdisciplinary practice and providing practice leadership. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will also help shape Positive Behaviour Support practice, promote the rights of people with disability, supervise practitioners, participate in peer supervision, and contribute to recruitment, induction and other practice leadership responsibilities.

What you’ll bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and completion or current enrolment in the Positive Approach to Behaviour Support Core Standard (FACS), including appraisal process, or CHCDIS006.
  • Advanced PBS knowledge and experience applying the PBS Capability Framework in complex practice.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated practice leadership, supervision and mentoring experience.
  • Experience in the disability and/or community sector using a person-centred, evidence-based PBS approach.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse paediatric and adult caseload while meeting service and performance targets.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate records, completing documentation and rostered tasks within required timeframes.
  • Ability to achieve a 55% average billable target and 80% minimum service agreement consumption.
  • Ability to complete individual plan strategies within one month, with 100% compliance.
