About the role

Northcott Therapy provides support to children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and global developmental delay.

We are seeking a committed professional Occupational Therapist to be based in Campbelltown (South West Sydney). Reporting to the Service Manager, you will provide timely, evidence based and person centred therapy services.

In this role you will:

  • Be committed to implementing Customer Centred Approaches
  • Deliver evidence based therapy to children, young people and adults with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual, physical disabilities and other complex support needs
  • Work with customers and families to identify strengths, skills and goals.
  • Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to asses strengths and areas of development to identify suitable intervention strategies
  • Always work on "best practice" solutions for our customers
  • Provide centre and community based therapy interventions
  • Pro-actively contribute to the on-going development of professional knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy
  • Positively contribute to quality and business improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years experience delivering evidence based therapy to children and adults with a disability
  • Excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening
  • Ability and commitment to work with a customer centred approach
  • Ability to work autonomously in a complex environment with multiple demands and tight timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner
  • Understanding of the NDIS and experience working in a fee for service model
  • Computer literate and familiarity in using IT customer record systems
  • Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or willing to obtain
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willing to obtain
  • Must have a valid drivers licence and willingness to travel as required
