Highly specialised Orthotics team

We have a dedicated orthotics team that works with you to design and craft orthoses tailored to your specific needs, including AFOs, Foot Orthoses (FO), KAFOs, SMOs, UCBLs, calipers, and custom supports/braces for lower limbs. We can create these products using traditional plaster casting or with a digital approach, where the product is 3D printed using high strength, high quality materials

Additionally, Northcott can create custom-made medical-grade footwear and modify your off-the-shelf shoes to make sure you are fully supported and comfortable when moving around.

Custom orthotics

Our experienced and committed orthotics team will work with customers to identify and create the right orthoses for each individual’s specific needs. We specialise in a range of custom-made orthoses including: Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs), Foot Orthoses (FO), Knee Ankle Foot Orthoses (KAFOs), Supra Malleolar Orthoses (SMOs), UCBLs, calipers, and custom supports/braces for the lower limbs. Off the shelf orthoses are also available. This service is available for adults and children.

Custom footwear

Our highly experienced pedorthist (show maker) will support you to live comfortably by creating custom made medical grade footwear. The footwear is designed with style and support in mind and can be tailored to suit the needs of individuals with polio, diabetes, ulcers, leg length discrepancy, club foot, charcot foot and foot deformities. All custom footwear can be designed in collaboration with Northcott’s orthotist to ensure seamless integration between the footwear and the individual’s brace, caliper or orthoses. Our team can also modify off the shelf footwear to accommodate extra width, depth, shoe raisers and orthoses. This service is available for adults and children.

NDIS Funding for Orthotics and Custom Footwear

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will use the following terms to describe the funding that can be used to purchase therapy services: Improved daily living skills, Assistive technology.

We can also support customers who would like to pay for services using their own funds, or if they have different type of state or Australian government funding, such as Enable.
