What is our promise to each customer?

We will work creatively and relentlessly with each customer to unlock, discover and unleash their potential, supporting and empowering them to be the best they can be now and in the future.

Our customers are not numbers, they are unique individuals. We will personalise our services to each customer’s current and future needs and goals, every single one, to ensure their development and growth.

As advocates for our customer’s inclusion, we will empower them with confidence, choice and opportunity so they can live their life, as they choose, in their own way.

Values and Purpose

Our purpose is to build an inclusive society where people can live the life they choose. We support people with disability to reach their full potential by providing services and support to promote a genuinely inclusive society.

Our vision is to grow our services because customers choose us as their provider of choice.

We are a values-based organisation that strives to foster a workplace culture based on our core values.

We are:

  • Innovative because we develop new ideas and solutions with creativity in anticipation of changing needs
  • Respectful because we believe that everyone’s voice is unique and that they have the right to be heard
  • Brave because we have the courage to stand up for people with all abilities even in the face of adversity

Our History

Northcott was established in 1929 by the Rotary Club of Sydney as the NSW Society for Crippled Children.

The Society was formed in response to the polio epidemic and provided services to children with tuberculosis, polio and other diseases who had been excluded from mainstream society.

Our resident librarian and Northcott historian, Judi Lipp, can be contacted if you would like to learn more about our history. Please email or phone 1800 818 826 to chat with Judi.
