"He’s able to keep up with his mates at preschool and child care, and he’s able to play at the park.”

As part of our service we now offer custom-made 3D printed ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs). This ground-breaking technology makes being fitted for orthoses quick, easy and fun for children.
3D printed ankle-foot orthoses
At Northcott we offer children a quick, simple and efficient 3D printed AFOs process as an alternative option to traditional plaster-casting methods. A 3D capture rig takes just seconds to scan the leg. A precise 3D model is created and the AFOs are made using a 3D printer. As part of the process, our experienced orthotist uses a tablet application to make minor design changes to ensure the AFOs are perfectly suited to the individual child’s needs. With the ability to create highly complex shapes in a fraction of the time, 3D printed AFOs are an enhanced method to achieve the best fit orthoses possible.

Our experienced and committed team will work with customers to identify and create the right orthotic for each individual’s specific needs. We specialise in a range of custom-made and off-the-shelf orthotics including foot orthoses, braces, and supports for knees, legs, ankles, hips and feet.
Our experts will support customers to live comfortably by creating custom made medical grade footwear. The footwear is designed with style and support in mind and can be tailored to suit the needs of individuals with polio, diabetes, ulcers, leg length discrepancy, club foot, charcot foot and foot deformities. We also provide custom footwear for customers who require extra wide and deep shoes to accommodate orthotics and can make modifications to off-the-shelf products, including shoe-raisers for leg length discrepancies and other adjustments.
