Logan is learning new skills and taking practical steps towards his goal of making a YouTube channel in Northcott’s Work and Study program.
He has been attending the Sunshine Coast program on Wednesdays for nearly two terms, learning how to use creative tools such as Canva to develop ideas for his YouTube channel.
He is especially proud of working towards a future in content creation.
“I want to be a YouTuber because of one person, and that is MrBeast himself,” Logan says.
“My YouTube channel is going to be sharing videos about the defence of people who can’t defended themselves.”

Logan’s ideas for his channel combine storytelling, imagination and advocacy.
Northcott Support Worker Georgina Turner says the program has been adapted to help Logan understand what it would take to turn his idea into a reality.
“The Work and Study Program was tailored to incorporate dedicated time for Logan to complete his Future Fit Bootcamp workbook,” Georgina says.
Using the workbook, Logan identified the steps involved in creating a YouTube channel. Those steps were then built into the program across the term, giving Logan opportunities to practise through hands-on activities and collaborate with other customers as they worked towards their own goals.
“These identified steps were then incorporated into the program, allowing Logan to apply his learning through practical activities,” Georgina says.
The skills Logan is developing include camera skills, video editing, computer skills, Canva and Photoshop, analytics, storytelling and public speaking. Together, these skills will help him plan, create and share content in a safe and purposeful way.

Georgina says Logan has made strong progress in understanding how to break a big goal into smaller, achievable tasks.
“During his time with Northcott, Logan has demonstrated significant progress in developing his task sequencing skills and understanding the practical steps involved in creating a YouTube channel,” Georgina says.
Logan is continuing to work on different challenges as well as building strategies to stay focused, organised and on track with his longer-term goals. With support, he is learning how to prioritise tasks and keep moving towards a creative future.
