Joint submission NDIS Amendment Bill 2026: Priorities for Children and Families

Northcott has joined Australian Child and Family Supports Alliance (ACaFSA) in making the following recommendations to the NDIS Amendment Bill 2026: Priorities for Children and Families.

While we support changes that will enable a sustainable NDIS, aspects of the proposed reforms under the Securing the NDIS for Future Generations Bill 2026 (The Bill) risk reducing flexibility, increasing service fragmentation and creating unintended barriers for children and families with complex, changing needs.

The Bill must implement best-practice early childhood intervention between the NDIS, foundational supports, education, health and community services.

Our key recommendations include:

1. Prioritise safety through supports where children live, play and learn
2. Protect all children’s access to support
3. Invest in the workforce
4. Maintain flexible funding and assessment processes
5. Protect community participation supports
6. Best practice governance and implementation.
