About the Role

Join Northcott as our Payroll Manager and lead the delivery of payroll services for a workforce of more than 2,300 employees across NSW, QLD and the ACT. This is a key leadership role within People & Culture, responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, system optimisation and exceptional service delivery across a large and complex organisation.

Working closely with People & Culture, Finance, ICT and operational leaders, you will provide leadership of Northcott's payroll function while driving continuous improvement across Aurion and related payroll and workforce systems.

  • Lead a high-performing payroll team delivering accurate and timely payroll services.
  • Oversee payroll operations for a large, geographically dispersed workforce of 2,300+ employees.
  • Drive payroll compliance across awards, enterprise agreements, taxation, superannuation and legislative requirements.
  • Lead the optimisation and continuous improvement of Aurion and related payroll systems.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve processes, reporting, controls and employee experience.
  • Contribute to strategic payroll, workforce and system projects across the organisation.

About You

As Payroll Manager, you will:

  • Bring extensive experience leading payroll functions within medium to large, complex organisations.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, STP and employment obligations.
  • Have experience interpreting and applying Awards and Enterprise Agreements across large workforces.
  • Possess strong payroll systems and HRIS capability, with experience driving system improvements, reporting enhancements and process optimisation.
  • Have extensive experience with payroll/HRIS platform. Experience with Aurion will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage payroll operations for a workforce of 2,300+ employees or a similarly complex environment.
  • Lead and develop teams to deliver high-quality, customer-focused payroll services.
  • Be a strong stakeholder manager who can work effectively across People & Culture, Finance, ICT and Operations.
  • Have advanced Excel, reporting and analytical skills.
  • Bring experience in the disability, community services, health, aged care or another highly regulated sector, which will be highly regarded.
