Group therapy: Using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Join Northcott therapists for a 4-day group therapy program for teenagers (13-18 years) who use AAC as their primary means of communication or as a support aid to their verbal communication.
Learn about: Developing vocabulary, language and communication skills. Social skills such as making requests, using questions and answers. Using devices for socialising.
Find answers to: How do I socialise using my communication device? How to do i share information with others?
Group setting benefits: Interact with other teenagers your age. See different models of device use and learn a range of language styles for your age group
What to expect: Structured activities to improve vocabulary and sentence building skills. Games and activities for socialising and joining in conversations.
Dates:
- Week 1: 16 – 17 April 2019
- Week 2: 23 – 24 April 2019
Time: 10am – 12pm
Cost: $597.60 – you can use NDIS Therapy Groups funding under the category ‘Improved Daily Living’ to pay for this program.
