Use a headset (headphones) – This ensures no feedback or echo is heard during the meeting
Place microphone away from speakers – If you can’t use a headset make sure the microphone is away from any speakers
Quiet environment – When participating in a meeting make sure that you are in a quiet environment
Muting – Mute your microphone until you have to speak, so background sounds aren’t transmitted
Group meetings – When participating in a group meeting use a dedicated audio/visual meeting room
Good lighting – Try and have a light source in front of you, otherwise you will appear very dark on the screen
Webcam position – Position your webcam at eye level, or at the top of the screen you will be mainly looking at during the meeting
Centre your preview on your mouth – Participants are interested in what you are saying not your office ceiling or your desktop
Document placement – Drag documents towards the top of your screen to simulate eye contact
Avoid patterns and be mindful of your background – avoid patterned clothing as it can look fuzzy on the screen, and choose a background that won’t be distracting to your viewers
Let's see what you can do.
