Online and Telehealth services during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
Northcott has adapted quickly to our rapidly changing environment during the pandemic. While we are continuing to offer face-to-face services, we are also offering our customers the opportunity to experience many of their usual services and activities from the comfort of their own home, via online and telehealth options.
What are online services?
An online service refers to any information and services provided over the internet.
The following Northcott services are currently being offered as online services:
Sometimes the sessions will be pre-recorded and available via an internet link so you can watch them at a time that suits you.
At other times you may be able to join in a live session, and – depending on how it is set up – you may even be able to speak with your Support Worker or Facilitator during the activity.
Please contact us about the easy technology and set-up requirements to access this.
To find out more about this option please contact your Coordinator or call our friendly Customer Service Team on 1800 818 286.
What is telehealth?
Telehealth is a broad term which describes the delivery of health and health-related services. This can include medical care, provider and customer education, health information services and self-care. Telehealth is delivered via telecommunications and digital communication – including telephones, mobiles and the internet.
Certain Northcott services which are now being offered online are classed as telehealth because they involve assessment, diagnosis and/or treatment. These include:
• Therapy services (including speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics and social work).
• NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) services (including first plan meetings, scheduled plan reviews and changes to supports).
