Therapy services during the
Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

We are offering a wide range of therapy services

Northcott continues to offer a range of services, including:  speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, group therapy and dietetics and social work.

We are still able to provide services at a variety of locations to suit our customers, such as in our consulting rooms, homes and schools. Due to the current pandemic we now offer telehealth options for many of these services. Telehealth is a good option for any customers that are in isolation.

Health screening before a Therapy session

If you are coming to a Northcott centre for your therapy session we have a strict entry checklist that all visitors must complete before they are allowed in. We also have strict policies in place to ensure that if staff are sick, they must not come to work and we will organise replacement staff.

So before your Therapist visits you at home, they will be asking you a few simple health questions. They will probably call you on the phone beforehand, but may also ask you some questions at the front door before they come in.

Your Therapist will ask you whether you have recently travelled overseas, whether you have been in contact with someone who has Coronavirus, and whether you have any particular flu-like symptoms. If you share a home with other people, he or she will also ask you if anyone in the home is self-isolating.

There are no right or wrong answers to the health screening questions.  Our interest is only to do everything we can to ensure that both our customers and staff remain safe and healthy. This also means that our staff are not transmitting illnesses through the community as they go from appointment to appointment.

All Northcott staff are also now being required to complete an additional training program on infection control.

School services

Our Therapists are currently receiving advice from several schools that we can no longer attend school premises as these are closed to outside visitors. If you, or someone you care for, usually has their therapy session at a school, please contact the school to find out about any current restrictions for visitors. We can always rearrange your therapy session for another location.
