NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) services during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
Northcott is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Partner in the Community to deliver Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Services in NSW. As such, we work closely with families and carers of children aged 0-6 years to develop the skills children need to take part in daily activities and achieve the best possible outcomes in life.
We would like to assure our families and carers that all ECEI services are being provided as usual during the pandemic. We have limited numbers of staff still working in each of our centres across Western Sydney, Hunter New England, the Mid North Coast and Northern NSW.
Our team of experienced, professional ECEI Coordinators usually meet with their young customers either at one of our many ECEI offices, or in families’ homes. However, we understand that for health and safety reasons, many of our families and carers may now be concerned about having face-to-face meetings.
Both scheduled plan reviews and first plan meetings can also be completed via videoconference or via telephone. Please note that meetings must be provided in this way if a member of the family or a carer has recently returned from overseas, has come into contact with someone affected by Coronavirus, or is feeling unwell.
If you still wish to have a face-to-face service, your ECEI Coordinator will contact you in advance to ask a few simple health questions before we visit you or you visit us. Your Coordinator will enquire about whether anyone in the family has recently travelled overseas, whether they have been in contact with someone who has Coronavirus, and whether any family member has any particular flu-like symptoms.
There are no right or wrong answers to the health screening questions. Our interest is only to do everything we can to ensure that our customers, their families and carers, plus our staff, remain safe and healthy. During your scheduled service, our staff will practise physical distancing wherever possible.
