Are you a wheelchair user who is looking for financial support with your tertiary studies, or know someone who is?

Applications are now open for the 2018 Gregory and Dolores Farrell Scholarship.

The scholarships, which are administered by the SpineCare Foundation, offer financial support for students who use a wheelchair for mobility and are looking to pursue tertiary education.

This year five scholarships will be on offer, each with a value of $5000, to assist with additional financial obstacles students with disability may face.

Past Gregory and Dolores Farrell Scholarship recipients have gone on to do some amazing things, like Dinesh Palipana, who became Australia’s first doctor with quadriplegia.

The extra financial support assisted Dinesh to graduate from medical school, which led to a fulfilling role working in a busy Emergency Department.

Dom Freestone is another one of our customers who was supported by the Gregory and Dolores Farrell Scholarship on his journey to becoming a graphic designer.

Financial assistance provided by the scholarship has allowed Dom to purchase expensive programs and equipment he required to complete his studies.

This year Dom plans on graduating with a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design degree from the University of Newcastle.

Applications for the scholarships must be lodged by close of business on Monday 5 February 2018.
