Group therapy: Using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Join Northcott therapists for a 4-day group therapy program for you and your child. This is for children aged 8-12 years who use or are learning to use AAC as their primary means of communication or as a support aid to their verbal communication. A parent/carer must attend with the child.
Learn about: Developing language and social skills with your child. Aided language stimulation and how to introduce literacy to your child.
What your child will gain: Core vocabulary and sentence building skills. Social skill and tips for using communication devices for socialising.
What you/carers will gain: knowledge about language development. Skills to use aided language stimulation strategies and the chance to share and learn with others.
What to expect: A hands-on, structured literacy based program using Charlotte’s Web. Language-based craft activities and games using communication devices.

Cost: $597.60 – You can use NDIS Therapy Groups funding under the category ‘Improved Daily Living’ to pay for this program.
