What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker in Northcott’s Cobbitty team, you’ll empower customers to live as independently and confidently as possible — supporting them to develop life skills, pursue study or work opportunities, and stay actively connected to their community.

I will:

  • Support customers in their daily lives, helping them build confidence and independence in a group home setting.
  • Use my experience in disability or aged care, ideally within group homes.
  • Demonstrate competency in manual handling, including hoist operation and repositioning.
  • Assist with personal care, hygiene, and domestic duties.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with customers and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with customers who have intellectual disabilities, autism, and/or physical disabilities.
  • Implement and review Individual Program Plans, supporting customers to achieve their goals.
  • Empower support staff to communicate effectively with customers using a personalised, person-centred approach.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and community participation.
  • Be flexible to work on a rotating roster, including weekends.

No two days are the same at Northcott. One day you might be leading a creative workshop or supporting a life skills session; the next, you could be helping someone take another step toward their independence and personal goals.

Why do I want this role at Northcott?

At Northcott, we prioritise your well-being and success. Our team enjoys a wide range of benefits designed to support work-life balance, financial well-being, and personal growth:
