About the Role

  • Be committed to using a person-centred approach to deliver evidence based therapy to children, young people and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disability and/or other complex support needs
  • Work with customers and families to identify strengths, skills and goals
  • Working a Neuro Developmental Caseload
  • Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to assess strengths and areas for development, in order to identify suitable intervention strategies
  • Always work on "best practice" solutions for our customers
  • Provide centre and community based therapies
  • Proactively contribute to the ongoing development of professional knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy
  • Positively contribute to quality and business improvement

About you

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Experience delivering evidence based therapy to children and adults with intellectual disability, sensory processing and/or emotional regulation needs
  • Some experience in the prescription of equipment, home modifications, functional assessments and supporting people with physical disability would be highly desirable  
  • Excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening
  • Ability and commitment to work with a customer-centred approach
  • Ability to work autonomously in a complex environment with multiple demands and tight timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner
  • Understanding of the NDIS and experience working in a fee for service model
  • Computer literate and familiar with using customer record systems
  • Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or willing to obtain
  • Police Check, less than 6 months old
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willing to obtain
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
