About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse / Clinical Specialist who is passionate about providing high level care in the Paediatric Spinal Outreach Service. This role is a varied permanent part time role, worked over 3 days a week. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the multidisciplinary Paediatric Spinal Outreach Service, we are looking for someone who will:

  • Deliver quality nursing and support to our diverse and unique customers
  • Promote improvement in quality of life and foster independence for children and adolescents with spinal cord injury
  • Provide person-centred, holistic and effective care
  • Be committed to achieve valuable outcomes
  • Have highly developed communication and understanding of specific needs
  • Have the ability to undertake travel within NSW (although location base is flexible)

About the Person:

  • Passion for providing high level care
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent, including current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) + CNS
  • Paediatric clinical experience, caring for children with spinal injuries
  • Experience with pressure area care and wound care / dressings
  • Experience in clinical practices associated with urinary catheters (all types) and bowel care
  • Experience at maintaining gastrostomy tubes
  • Standard Industry Checks (WWCC, Police History Check)
  • Current Australian driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of the NSW Disability Standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours at times
