About the role:

We have several opportunities to on-board ECEI Coordinators. The successful Coordinators will be engaging with our team on a fixed-term basis, with potential to continue past the end date of 30 JUNE 2020. With this is mind, contracts will be issued until 30 June 2020 as Fixed Term, Full Time only.

The ECEI Coordinator will be engaging with children who may have a disability or developmental delay and their families to determine the best supports for their improved independence, social participation and quality of life. Children may not have a confirmed diagnosis when a Coordinator meets them. No two days will be the same with unique opportunities at every turn to make a real difference in the Early Childhood Early Intervention sector. Our ECEI Coordinators are patient and dedicated, ready to meet each challenge with a can-do attitude!


About you:

Given the short-term nature of this opportunity, we are look for:

    • Readiness to engage with families to understand the child & family in a warm & emotionally intelligent way that builds rapport quickly
    • Report on observations of a child in their natural environment, assessing their functional and support needs using supporting tools and documents within the NDIS IT system.
    • Provide recommendations based on information gathered that aim to enhance the improvement of the child’s development and social participation.
    • Proactively establish effective relationships with local stakeholders including Early Childhood Education settings, mainstream and specialist services providing information and support to families with disability or development delays.
    • Seek to build the capacity of families and the community to work confidently and effectively with children with disability to meet each individual child's developmental needs.
    • Appreciation and acceptance of diversity for wellness, understanding the importance of implementing a tailored and personalised approach to children and their families

Essential experience and/or qualifications:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Early Childhood Education, Allied Health Professions or other relevant professional fields.
    • Excellent report writing skills and ability to learn database systems.
    • Proven ability to time manage & meet KPIs both unsupervised and in a team.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing Early Childhood intervention strategies with families using a capacity building approach.
    • Ability and willingness to be flexible in your approach with children and families.
    • Knowledge of the Child Protection Legislation and the principles of Keep Them Safe.
    • Certified passport or Birth Certificate as proof of working rights
    • Current NSW Drivers' Licence 
    • Police Check (less than 6 months old) or willingness to obtain.
    • NSW Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
