About the role

Northcott Therapy provides support to children, young people and adults with disability, including intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and global developmental delay.

We are seeking a committed professional Occupational Therapist to be based in Campbelltown (South West Sydney). Reporting to the Service Manager, you will provide timely, evidence based and person centred therapy services.

In this role you will:

  • Be committed to using a person-centred approach to deliver evidence based therapy to children, young people and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual and/or physical disability and other complex support needs
  • Work with customers and families to identify strengths, skills and goals.
  • Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to assess strengths and areas of development, in order to identify suitable intervention strategies
  • Always work on "best practice" solutions for our customers
  • Provide centre and community based therapies
  • Proactively contribute to the ongoing development of professional knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy
  • Positively contribute to quality and business improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Experience delivering evidence based therapy to children and adults with disability
  • Excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening
  • Ability and commitment to work with a customer-centred approach
  • Ability to work autonomously in a complex environment with multiple demands and tight timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner
  • Understanding of the NDIS and experience working in a fee for service model
  • Computer literate and familiar with using customer record systems
  • Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or willing to obtain
  • Police Check, less than 6 months old
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willing to obtain
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
