About the role

We are a leading disability services provider in NSW and the ACT, providing services and support for people with disability and their families and carers.

Northcott Therapy provides support to children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities including intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and global developmental delay.

Based in Albury and reporting to the Service Manager you will provide timely, evidence based and person-centred therapy services to children and adults with disability, within a multidisciplinary team.

About you

  • Genuine interest and commitment to the human services industry
  • Previous NDIS related experience is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload in an efficient and effective manner
  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health (Speech Pathology)
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Experience working with children, young people and adults with disability
  • Advanced understanding of relevant assessments and interventions
  • Current drivers licence and willingness to drive within the region
  • NSW Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
  • National Police Check, or willingness to obtain

As a Speech Pathologist you will:

  • Provide Speech Pathology services to children, young people, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual and/or physical disability and other complex needs
  • Work with the customers and families to identify customers' strengths, skills and goals
  • Identify barriers that may restrict the customer’s physical, emotional, cognitive and/or social development, well-being or participation.
  • Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to assess strengths, skills and areas of development in collaboration with the customer
  • Analyse and interpret assessment findings and customers' priorities to develop appropriate interventions in collaboration with other team members
  • Provide centre-based and community-based Speech Pathology interventions addressing the customers' needs. These may be delivered on and individual, group or consultative basis
