About the role

Are you passionate about building capacity and strength based approaches for customer rights? Northcott is looking to invest in you to help grow our Quality and Safeguarding practice and also share in our success.

Our objective is to manage and support Quality and Safeguarding for the organisation. The Practice Hub services include person centred behaviour support, safeguarding, training, and sexuality and relationship education at Northcott.

Based in North Parramatta and reporting to the Practice Manager, your role will ensure your leadership is promoting a culture of safeguarding and best practice in prevention and response to abuse and neglect of both adults and children who are customers of Northcott.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar role, including knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to vulnerable adults and children
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant professional field
  • A passion for supporting customer rights, using capacity building and strengths based approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote best practice models of delivery across a variety of service types
  • Initiative, flexibility, time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • NSW Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Police Check less than 6 months old, or willingness to obtain

In this role you will

  • Be responsible to mentor the Safeguarding and Response team
  • Promote safeguarding best practices, including appropriate and timely response to all concerns or allegations of abuse or neglect in adults or children who are customers of Northcott
  • Conduct internal investigations where appropriate, and advise of appropriate courses of action
  • Ensure provision of expert advice, reasoned recommendation and innovative solutions
  • Complete reports required by the NSW Ombudsman and other external authorities
